Our team at RMG Group of Stifel is passionate about improving the quality of life for the communities we live in.

We are proud of our commitment to serving our community – take a look at some of our recent philanthropic endeavors!

The Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer

The team at Stifel RMG Group is always up for a challenge, so when we heard of the opportunity to raise money for ovarian cancer research, our group was raising their hands in no time – even though it included a 5k! At SummeRun 2018, our team walked and donated to support the Rivkin Center, raising $1,300, on top of Stifel's sponsorship of $3,000.

Since its establishment in 1996, the Rivkin Center has awarded over $10 million in research grants to independent investigators around the world, making them one of the largest non-profit funders of ovarian cancer research. These research grants are supported entirely by Rivkin Center donors, including supporters of the SummeRun & Walk.

A few Rivkin Center funded research success stories include: defining the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer when none were thought to exist, discovering new biomarkers that indicated the presence of ovarian cancer in urine, and demonstrating that the most common and lethal form of ovarian cancer originates in the fallopian tubes.

For every dollar the Rivkin Center awards through ovarian cancer research grants, researchers receive an additional $8.50 in funding from other sources. We are proud to support such a wonderful cause.

Invest in Youth

Mark McClure and Mike Harkins, both longtime supporters of Invest in Youth, participated in the organization's annual golf fundraiser. Invest in Youth exists to enhance the academic abilities, self-confidence, and life prospects of struggling learners in Seattle Public Schools.

“Thank you for your generous sponsorship of the 2014 Invest in Youth Golf Classic. With your support, we're able to continue to grow the organization and will now be tutoring over 100 students at 6 schools!” Executive Director, Invest in Youth.

“Thanks to the sponsorship of many investment firms, the event raised a net $50,000 for this great organization.” Mark McClure, Managing Director, RMG Group of Stifel.

American Red Cross of Snohomish County

When tragedy struck the town of Oso in 2014, Lou Ann Isler, our Wire Operator & Cashier, went to work to collect donations from her colleagues to support a community in need. The result? The final total of our fund raising efforts for Snohomish County Red Cross amounted to $3,030! RMG Group was able to match individual donations, bringing the grand total to $6,030.00 for our neighbors up north.

We also participate in and support the Annual Red Cross Real Heroes breakfast. The 2015 breakfast was a great success, welcoming over 700 guests and raising more than $250,000 for Red Cross critical community services and programs.

“We are so grateful to see such a wonderful outpouring of support from generous corporations and community members. Thank you!” Red Cross.

Treehouse

When the time came for back to school shopping, our RMG Group of seasoned shoppers joined Treehouse volunteers at Macy's to shop for the Wearhouse at Treehouse. The group was able to purchase around $15,000 worth of back-to-school clothing, equating to over 900 individual items.

“You and your team have done it again! Thank you for making sure kids have what they need as they prepare for the upcoming school year. We had so much fun shopping with everyone this morning. The impact of your drive is undeniable and makes it possible for us to have enough volume and variety of clothes for kids as they choose their 1st day of school outfits from the Wearhouse.”  Development Director, Treehouse.

“We are so proud to call Stifel RMG Group lifelong friends of youth in foster care and Treehouse! Together we help kids thrive.” Janis Avery, CEO of Treehouse.

Youth Eastside Services (YES)

Youth Eastside Services (YES) provides mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and education and prevention services that positively impact the well-being of thousands of Eastside kids and families every year. YES serves more than 70 locations — including schools, teen centers, and community centers — to help youth recover from issues like substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, bullying, and dating violence.

First Vice President/Investments, Jennie Rush, has played an important role in supporting YES since she was elected to the YES Board of Trustees in May 2008. Jennie currently serves as Chair of the YES Board Development Committee, and over the past three years, Stifel RMG Group has generously donated $8,500 to YES — enough to help several youth recover from life-threatening issues through a full year of intensive, one-to-one counseling.

The Invest in Youth Breakfast is YES' only annual fundraiser, and its proceeds allow YES to extend a lifeline by providing free or reduced-cost services to kids and families who can't afford the full cost of care. The breakfast is also chance for nearly 1,000 community leaders to hear stories from the youth and families YES has helped. The event is always well-attended by RMG Group associates.

Bellevue Boys and Girls Club

Since its inception in 1952, Bellevue Boys and Girls Club (BGC) has been on a mission to inspire & enable all young people, especially those most in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The Club provides our young neighbors with a safe environment where adults respect and listen to them, and a place to have fun. RMG Group of Stifel supports the Bellevue BGC through donations to keep the organization's presence strong in our community.

“Sending a big THANK YOU to RMG Group of Stifel – a major sponsor for our 49th Annual Auction Party coming up on May 2! Our awesome partners help us continue to open more doors for more kids, more often! #thankfulthursday” Bellevue Boys and Girls Club Facebook Page
